Councilman Winters attended a celebration on April 21 that marked the completion of Mountain Vista Ranch Well #2.
Councilmember Winters attended the Surprise Community Center Open House on March 28 where residents had an opportunity to enjoy food, tour the facility and meet the staff of the new Human Service and Community Vitality Department.

Councilman Winters attended a Celebrity Reading event at Canyon Ridge Elementary School on March 24. As part of the event, he read to two 2nd grade classes.
Councilman Winters participated in the groundbreaking ceremony at Veramonte Park on Saturday, March 14.
The park, located at 12741 N. 140th Ave., will be receiving various improvements including: a splash pad, parking lot and restrooms.

While in Washington D.C. for the National League of Cities’ Congressional City Conference, Councilman Winters and other members of Council met with Arizona Congressman Ruben Gallego to discuss the city’s legislative agenda.
Councilmember Winters attended the groundbreaking for Surprise Farms Park improvements on February 28. When improvements are complete, by the end of 2015, residents can enjoy a new skate park, splash pad, basketball courts and more!
The Celebrity Flag Football Challenge brought celebs, fans, and media to Surprise Stadium on Super Bowl weekend! Councilmember Winters had the chance to meet with media and give some insight into what makes Surprise so special. The game not only provided exposure for the City, it also benefitted the Wounded Warrior Project.

Boards and Commissions members recommended by the Boards and Commissions Selection Committee, of which Councilmember Winters is chair, were approved by Council and sworn in on Dec. 16. Mary Pate was appointed to the Arts & Cultural Advisory Commission; Christine Baker, Nicole Jeffords and Joseph Poschner were appointed to the Disability Advisory Commission; Matthew Keating was appointed to the Planning & Zoning Commission; and Ryan Spotts was appointed to the Health Benefits Trust Fund Board.
